Quotes For The Second Half

Updated: Apr 24, 2020

It’s pretty scary to know how quickly time flies.

Is it just me, or does it feel like the first half of the year went by at triple-warp-speed?

It feels like just yesterday I was at the start of the year, setting New Year resolution, my goals and targets for the year. Then Chinese New Year came and I celebrated and visited my friends and relatives. Thereafter I went for company incentive trip and extended tour with my colleagues. After that I enjoyed my birthday trip. Subsequently other festivals like Easter, Labor Day, Hari Raya, etc. came along. And now, what just happened? It is July already!

As we approach the second half of the year, it’s time for some reflections. What have we done well? What could have done better? Some of us may have a good first half. Some of us may not have that luxury. Nevertheless, it is still a journey and a work in progress. And we are on the way towards our destination and we can have some encouragements and motivations to move forward.

1) A good beginning is half the success

For those of you who have done well for the first half of the year.

Congratulations to you!

Half of the battle is already won. You have done a good job! Keep the momentum going, and you will end the year strong!

2) I may not be there yet, but I’m closer than I was yesterday

You may not be there yet, but you’re closer than you were yesterday.

Halfway mark. It’s not the end yet. You are getting closer to your destination. The key is keep on going on, and never give up.

3) The end of a thing is better than the beginning

Thank God we are not in End Game.

The end is still yet to come.

And it will be better than the beginning.

4) Do not remember the former things, nor consider things of old.

Behold, I will do a new thing, now it shall spring forth

Whatever that had happened had happened.

Now it’s time to move on.

Greater things have yet to come; Greater things are still to be done.

5) If you always do what you’ve always done, you’ll always get what you’ve always got.

Insanity is doing the same thing over and over again, and expecting different results.

Change is the only constant in life. If you want a different result, it’s time to change.

6) It’s never too late to be what you might have been

It’s never too late to start over.

It’s never too late to change.

It’s never too late to be happy.

It’s never too late to change directions.

It’s never too late to say, “This isn’t how the story is going to end.”

7) Do what you have to do, to do what you want to do

Where you are today is because of what you have or have not done yesterday.

The choices we make today will determine the future we have tomorrow.

If you have not started on your journey, let’s get started today.

I promise you that the older you will be grateful for the journey you start today.
