Happiness is one of those things in life that everyone wants to achieve, but most people don’t really know how to go about doing that. We all want to feel happy, but most of us don’t really know what makes us happy or what we can do to change our lives for the better.
Recently, with the passing on of my father, it makes me ponder more about life and happiness. I had a difficult relationship with my father when I was young. And I blamed him for the financial hardships we had to go through. We had our fair shares of ups and downs. You can read more about lessons from my father over here. I am glad that we have patched things out when he is alive. He is missed, but I believe that he is in a better place now.
What is happiness to you? To some people, it’s the feeling that they can do anything they want to do. To others, it means that they can be healthy and energetic and able to enjoy life. And to the older generation, they would say that it’s being with their family.
In summary, here are my thoughts on happiness.
Happiness is the feeling we get when everything is going well, when life is going according to plan, when the sun is shining. It is is an emotional state characterized by feelings of joy, satisfaction, contentment, and fulfillment. It is a positive emotion that occurs when we are satisfied with our lives. And it’s something that we want to experience more often.
Here’s the thing: True happiness isn’t about being happy all the time.
There are also negative emotions. When we are sad, we feel depressed. When we are anxious, we feel stressed. When we are afraid, we feel fearful. All of these emotions have a very specific purpose. They are meant for us to grow as a human. Experiencing stress, sadness and anxiety in the short term does not mean we cannot be happy in the long term.
We need to embrace our emotions and our humanity with all its ups and downs, enjoying the positive emotions, and harnessing painful feelings in order to reach our full potential.
Simply put, happiness is a way of thinking.
The big question is: How will you direct your thoughts today?
Will you dwell upon those things that are honorable, true, and worthy of praise? Or will you allow your thoughts to be hijacked by the negativity that seems to dominate our troubled world?
We should adopt a positive attitude and think positively about our opportunities and blessings. Celebrate our lives by focusing our thoughts and our energies upon things that are excellent and worthy of praise. Count our blessings instead of hardships. Be thankful for all the good things that happen in our lives.
Happiness is a mindset, but it’s not just a matter of thinking positively. It’s a matter of living with a purpose, which is a combination of thought and action. The goal is to be happy and content in all aspects of your life, from work to your family and friends, and from your physical health to your financial well-being. It’s about having a positive outlook on life.
Being happy is a choice. If you want to be happy, you must make the choice to be happy.
Many people are not happy with their lives. They either are not happy with their jobs, their spouses, their children, their health, their finances, or some combination of these areas of their life.
There are no guarantees in life. No one is in complete control of his or her destiny. However, if you make the decision to be happy, then the universe conspires to make that decision easy for you. When you decide to be happy, the universe conspires to make it possible for you to have everything necessary to be happy.
Most people do not realize this and they end up blaming their lack of happiness on some outside circumstances. The truth is: All of our lives are composed of our choices, and we become servants to the choices we make.
Every life is a tapestry of choices. And the quality of our lives depends on the quality of choices we make.
